ClipScribeWho operates the service
ClipScribe is independently operated by an individual. For privacy questions, access, correction or deletion requests, use the Contact page at /en/contact. Describe your request without sending passwords, session cookies or API keys. Requests are handled through support; there is no automatic account-deletion button.
Information you choose to use
An account stores your email, name, authentication and session records; signup may record IP address and language for account operation and security. The extension accesses the supported video URL, metadata and available captions you select for its visible features. Cloud tasks send the URL, file or text you explicitly submit, and store task status, credit records and results. Local extension storage holds settings, saved transcripts and drafts; its session storage holds the extension session.
Chrome Limited Use commitment
ClipScribe follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use extension data only to provide its disclosed transcription, review and export features and necessary security operations. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or collect unrelated browsing activity. We transfer it only as necessary for these features, legal obligations or security. Human access to extension content requires your specific consent, such as for support, unless necessary for security or required by law.
Necessary service providers
Cloudflare hosts the service and private R2 media storage; Neon stores account and task records. Audio submitted for speech recognition is sent to Volcengine/Doubao. Text submitted to AI tools is sent to DeepSeek when that tool is enabled. Content you submit may therefore be processed by these providers outside your country under their own policies; we do not promise zero provider retention. Stripe processes payment and subscription information through its hosted Checkout and customer portal.
Retention and deletion
Uploaded files have a 24-hour application access period. This is not a guarantee of physical deletion exactly at 24 hours: protected read grants, scheduled cleanup and storage lifecycle processing can delay removal. Normalized speech-recognition files are revoked after their task and cleaned through that process. Account, task, transcript and credit history remain stored until a support request is handled or operational/legal retention requires otherwise; no universal 30-day log limit is promised. Deleting local drafts does not delete cloud history.
Your choices and browser storage
Submit only content you want processed, review what you send to support, and export results you wish to keep. Contact us for applicable data rights; reasonable identity verification may be necessary, and statutory recordkeeping may limit deletion. The current release uses necessary sign-in and language storage, with no advertising or analytics integration. See the Cookie policy for names and local storage behavior.
